On and off, I've tended to read quite a bit. So, I thought I'd put up some reviews of books as I read them. In time, I may go back and add reviews of some of the books I read in the past. Not massively exciting, but I suppose it may be of interest to someone, somewhere (perhaps).
The Rough Guide to Babies - Miranda Levy
You may be able to spot a pattern in my recent reading habits. This, plus moving from a two bed flat to a three bed, and other subtle hints such as attending ante-natal scans might give away the fact that Caroline's finishing off her second trimester. So, there you go.
I don't think this book is terribly good. It's pretty solid. It contains information. It contains reassurance plus hints of the horrors. It's constructed as you might expect a rough guide to be. However, it really lacks the depth of the pregnancy Rough Guide, and you do get the feeling that the most useful part of each chapter is the 'further information' section, pointing to other books. It's as if you need more instructions to look after a bump than to cope with something once it's born. Odd.
