Nabla

On and off, I've tended to read quite a bit. So, I thought I'd put up some reviews of books as I read them. In time, I may go back and add reviews of some of the books I read in the past. Not massively exciting, but I suppose it may be of interest to someone, somewhere (perhaps).

I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have to Be Destroyed by Me - Trevor Paglen

The full title being "I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have to Be Destroyed by Me: Emblems from the Pentagon's Black World", this pretty much does what it says on the tin. It's a collection of badges from the military staff involved in skunkworks-style projects, extracted through Freedom of Information requests, etc. It's got a fair amount of style over substance, but this works well because the substance is, well, still classified! The badges are annotated with a bit of guesstimated explanation, and the whole thing's really rather fun. Great as a mini-coffee-table book, I'm sure it'll provide minutes of entertainment to anyone who is easily distracted.
