Nabla

On and off, I've tended to read quite a bit. So, I thought I'd put up some reviews of books as I read them. In time, I may go back and add reviews of some of the books I read in the past. Not massively exciting, but I suppose it may be of interest to someone, somewhere (perhaps).

The Girl Who Played Go - Shen Sa

Originally known as La Joueuse de go, this is one of the few go-related novels, and as such, one I had to get. It tells the story of a Japanese soldier and Chinese schoolgirl as they play a go match during the wars of the '30s. Doomed romance, oppression, insurrection, it's all terribly fluffy stuff really, designed to cheer you up. It's actually pretty good.
