I am reading through TCP/IP Illustrated (review to follow, obviously!). "Doing" seems to be rather more effective than just "Reading" for learning stuff, so I thought I'd write a little user-space TCP/IP stack.
I have a tendency to have many projects on the go at once and switch between them, so I have now hit such a switching point, having created the absolute minimum program that does something, namely negotiate the LCP level of PPP, badly. I now have code up at github. I'll do a little bit of something else, and come back to it, hopefully bringing it to the level where it can actually receive and drop an IP packet!
