I missed Verity Stob's column the first time round, but got a copy after I'd heard rather good things about it. And... it's pretty good. It's literate and technically literate and generally pretty funny. It's also quite a good insight into professional software development of the late 80s through the 90s, from the jokes. Personally, I thought the weakest points were the computer-based poems styled after famous poems. Most of the other columns are rather good takes on the computer news and topics of the time (including fads in software development).
