I'd been looking for this for a while, and finally found it... while on my stag do in Edinburgh! (I then proceeded to read it on our honeymoon!) Having read a few of Stross's novels, I was keen to read a few of his short stories (which this book is a collection of), but this book was fundamentally a bit disappointing (if diverting). While his ideas are clever and different, he only has so many of them, and they've been recycled from the short stories into novels. Perhaps this is best viewed as an insight into the development of his ideas? At any rate, the dregs of Stross's work are still better than an awful lot of other stuff.
